History of the Lucketts Fair

Since 1972, friends and neighbors in the small village of Lucketts, Virginia, have been putting on an annual fair at the Old Lucketts School. This tradition began as a tribute to the fine old 1900's building and to the school's many graduates.

Over the years, the schoolhouse has been a focal point and gathering place for local residents. In 1981, it became the Lucketts Community Center, an affiliate of Loudoun County Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Services and the Lucketts Community Center Advisory Board (LCCAB) was formed.

The Old Lucketts School, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, serves as the backdrop for this genuine, old-fashioned country fair held each August in beautiful Loudoun County, Virginia. Fair proceeds help restore and maintain the Old Lucketts School building and fund preschool and camp scholarships as well as an English for Families program.

Well, visitors loved our Fair, and volunteers worked eagerly to make each year’s Fair a success. With the help of Fair proceeds, the schoolhouse was restored and is now included on the National Register of Historic Places.

With proceeds from the fair the LCCAB has been able to build playgrounds and ball fields, acquire land for expansion, renovate the stage for our Bluegrass Series, and support the recreational interests and need of our community.
